Nice to Meet You – Sibylla Martinelli
What do you like most about your job? “I love that my working environment is very international and that I’m in contact with researchers who I can help and who value my work. Supporting the scientific community in Switzerland in this way is very rewarding.”
What is important to you in your professional life? “I really care about support for young researchers. I know from my own experience how challenging research can be in that phase of your life since I had my 2 children while working on my doctorate. The MSCA are flexible regarding career breaks and encourage careers in non-academic environments. This is very important.”
What sustains you in your personal life? “People! I see great importance in accepting people as they are. I try to be open and flexible mentally. In addition to my work, I depend on spiritual nourishment such as music, literature and art, as well as togetherness, conversation and good food. And I love to drive around in my old car with my teenage kids listening to their favourite music.”
