The SME Instrument targets innovative companies with high-potential ideas
From 1 January 2017, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Switzerland are also eligible for the Horizon 2020 SME Instrument. This programme is structured as a permanently open call with four cut-off dates per year for each phase of support.
Phase 1 provides a €50 000 lump sum for concept and feasibility studies aiming to exploit and commercialise groundbreaking, innovative ideas. Phase 2 projects cover the next steps towards bringing the innovation to market take-up. These longer projects are financed with up to €2.5 million for up to 70% of total project costs. Phase 3 projects are provided with business support for market launch, including world-class coaching activities, access to foreign markets through the Enterprise Europe Network, and facilitated networking with private and public investors.
The SME Instrument is a great opportunity for entrepreneurs and innovative SMEs with high-potential, innovative ideas for close-to-market, internationally relevant projects. Swiss companies can finally take advantage of this opportunity! To bring more information to Swiss SMEs, Euresearch is dedicating a special afternoon session at the national conference
on 14 March 2017 to the SME Instrument, including testimonials from past SME Instrument beneficiaries and in-depth training on the programme. In parallel, Euresearch regional SME Contact Points are organising a series of cantonal events to provide further information, answers to questions and bilateral support.
