Research & Development for Societal Challenges

Researchers in Measurement & Standards will find topics in specific areas of all of the Societal Challenges. As the Societal Challenges require a multi-disciplinary approach, the field of Measurement is relevant to the majority of research and innovation topics. Research involving Standards will be found in topics that aim for standardisation and/or commercialisation.

Research & Development for Industrial Challenges

The majority of topics for Measurement & Standards researchers will be found in the Industrial Leadership pillar, especially in areas of strong industrial involvement. Innovative approaches in Key Enabling Technologies (KETs), a major component of "Leadership in Enabling & Industrial Technologies" (LEIT), may require measurement and standardisation activities, especially when operating on a European level.
