    This Societal Challenge is about undertaking the research and innovation activities needed to protect Europe's citizens, society and economy as well as its infrastructures and services, its prosperity, political stability and wellbeing.

    The Work Programme of Societal Challenge 7: Secure Societies focuses for the years 2018–2020 on:

    • einhancing the resilience of our society against natural and man-made disasters
    • fighting crime and terrorism
    • improving border security
    • providing enhanced cyber-security
    • protecting critical infrastructures
