    Information and Communication Technology in LEIT

    In Horizon 2020, ICT is integrated into the three different pillars covering the full innovation chain, from basic research to market uptake. 

    - Excellent Science/FET and eInfrastructures: Advanced research to uncover radically new technological possibilities and ICT driven research and innovation (R&I).

    - Leadership in Enabling & Industrial Technologies (LEIT): R&I on generic ICT technologies either driven by industrial roadmaps or through a bottom-up approach.

    - Societal challenges: Multi-disciplinary application-driven R&I leveraging ICT to tackle societal challenges.

    The ICT Work Programme 2018-2020 focuses on:

    • Digitasation of European industry and services incl. cyber-physical systems
    • Micro- and nano-electronic technologies, Photonics
    • 5G
    • Next Generation Internet: Interactive technologies, internet of things
    • STARTS programme (Science, Technology and Arts) 
    • Platforms and pilots
    • European Data Infrastructure: HPC, Big Data, Cloud
    • Robotics incl. Hubs and Pilots
    • Next Generation Internet: Artificial Intelligence
    • Digital transformation in Health and Care (Health Work Programme)
    • Trusted digital solutions and cybersecurity in health
