FORWARD 2019: Innovation Collaborations in the Spotlight
The FORWARD event – showcasing numerous innovations developed through collaboration – brought together nearly 1 000 participants and over 50 speakers from a variety of sectors. As a partner of FORWARD, Euresearch promoted the potential of EU RDI opportunities for innovation-driven SMEs and researchers.
Co-organised by EPFL, PME Magazine and Le Temps, FORWARD – the national SME innovation forum running in French-German translation – was the place to highlight the power of collaboration for innovative products and services.
The 2019 forum focused on digital innovation as a key driver of value for SMEs. It mixed inspirational plenaries, practical sessions, pitches and match-making, with more than 160 1-on-1 meetings taking place! As confirmed by participants, nothing speaks better than a real-life case, with researchers and SMEs getting on stage to talk about the successes and challenges of collaborations. Bringing together businesses from sectors as diverse as automation, sports, pharma, banking, energy, insurance and entertainment, the forum demonstrated that innovation is a central theme for all Swiss businesses. FORWARD proved a great spot to promote EU RDI collaborative opportunities and the SME Instrument as tools for the most innovative SMEs. Euresearch was present with a booth and pitch session highlighting the support services available in Switzerland for accessing EU opportunities.
The next FORWARD forum is scheduled for 3 March 2020, and the EPFL SMEs Unit will soon launch an ideation contest for SMEs. Interested to know more? Contact us at EPFL.
