2017 has been a busy year for Euresearch. The signing of the Croatia protocol at the end of 2016 brought Switzerland—eventually—full association to Horizon 2020.
For the Euresearch Network, full association meant that we could focus again on the opportunities Horizon 2020 has to offer rather than on having to explain the restrictions that were in place from 2014-2016. To do so, we organised two large information events in Bern. The first, “Horizon 2020: Associated!” took place in March and emphasised the advantages of full association for researchers, not least with regard to the “SME Instrument”. At the end of October, “Horizon 2020: What to Expect and Where to Find It” addressed the different calls that are currently open for submission. In a novel approach, we presented the wide variety of topics in thematic clusters rather than in their usual programme structure. The idea was very well received by the participants, as was the opportunity to discuss their questions and/or project ideas bilaterally with the National Contact Point of their choice; the event was fully booked.
In addition, we have also been working on an update of our homepage, with the aim to give you easier, more intuitive access to a wealth of information. The launch is foreseen by the end of this year – watch this space!
It remains for me to wish you happy holidays. We are looking forward to seeing, meeting and hearing from you again in 2018!
