Introduction: The research activities with FP7 in space focus on the European strategy for advanced access to space data for the citizen and an independent space industry. The R&D Guide gives you an overview on the research areas.
Objecitves: Space in FP7 is dominated by GMES (Global Monitoring for Environment and Security) in accordance with the EU’s commitments to Sustainable Development. Additionally, applications designed to guarantee
the strategic role of Europe in space and its exploitation are areas for research as coordinating research activities and ensuring Europe's competitiveness.
Thematic domains: FP7 Space research is carried out complementary to the European Space Agency (ESA) and focuses on:
