In its second Advanced Grant competition for established top researchers, the European Research Council (ERC) has selected 236 research leaders to perform their pioneering research throughout Europe.
The successful researchers are of 26 nationalities and will be working in 18 different countries. Switzerland hosts 29 grant winners and thus ranks fourth in the host countries statistics, after UK, France, and Germany. Already in the first Advanced Grant competition researchers in Switzerland were very successful and got 27 grants.
The success rate in Switzerland was 28%, whereas in all Europe it was in average 15%.
